BASSIST/VOCALIST sought for Long Island Based Country Music Project (Western / Central Suffolk)

Permalink
Howdy,

2 Guitarists and a Drummer are looking for a Bass Player / Band Mate with strong vocal ability to complete our new and innovative Suffolk County, Long Island based Country Music project. The 3 of us sing lead / harmonies and are looking for a Bassist who can do the same. We are seasoned musicians in our early 40s and currently in other lightly working bands.

Unlike traditional Long Island Country bands, which also perform Southern / Classic Rock, the repertoire of our project will be Classic and Contemporary Country songs that are popular for Country Western line dancing.

Artists well cover include: Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Tracy Byrd, Johnny Cash, Kenny Chesney, Mark Chesnutt, Billy Currington, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, George Jones, Toby Keith, The Mavericks, Tim McGraw, Joe Nichols, Buck Owens, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Josh Turner, Keith Urban, Hank Williams and Dwight Yoakam.

To break ourselves in, well look into performing some mini-set showcase gigs at local venues during the week until we have an evenings worth of material. Our goal will be to work steadily in Tri-State Honky Tonks, restaurants, festivals, wineries, private parties, etc.

The ideal candidate for our project should have the following traits:

* A fan of Country music and familiar with the above mentioned artists - so that youll sincerely enjoy the music well be playing!
* Ability to learn your parts as true to the original recordings as reasonable. This is not a jam style project.
* A dedicated professional who is prepared and determined to contribute their best.
* Have a vocal range in the upper register to assist primarily in higher harmonies and some lead vocals.
* Ability to rehearse on Saturday early afternoons in a Commack home studio from around 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
* Internet and email savvy for the efficiency of communications, coordination of scheduling rehearsals / gigs, to retrieve MP3s, etc.
* Willingness and flexibility to travel the tri-state area (within reasonable distance) for gigs.
* Reliable equipment and transportation.
* Look good in a cowboy hat and boots smile.gif

PLEASE also include a phone number where we can reach you to further discuss our project.

Thank you for your interest!
